Its Raining Men
*Radio plays above mentioned song
Colleague: I hate that dumb song, why do they always play it on Class 95?
Me (mentally): Because its an old song for old fogeys like you?
Colleague: Its so irritating, this
Its raining men, its raining men nonsense, how am I supposed to work with bad music?
Me (mentally again): Well, then switch stations woman, and don't complain about it!
At 10.35am, amidst my bevy of conversing in various accents over the phone,my colleague's mundane lamentations elucidated my thoughts.
Hmm.
Switching stations. I wish somethings were as easy as switching stations and not complaining about things. Well actually, on second thought, they aren't as difficult as we make it out to be as well. It all boils down to perception and how you are willing to adapt and live life a little differently, out of the (sometimes, not too comfortable) comfort zone you built for yourself. This week shall be focused on trying out a little alternative
music if you will. Comfort zones are built by oneself, and I think I nested too long in this one.
Spent the weekend differently from how I would normally spend it and it was nice. :) Yes ladies and gentlemen, a miracle in Eunice's blog history. Today she actually doesn't sound that suicidal, bitter and depressed. Hur yourself. Anyway, moving on. Yes, loads of malibu, chips, diet coke, chips and Dolby surround sound Dvds, I like. Throw in some smooth R&B, wit and fast banter. Not exactly high on the happening weekend factor but engaging nevertheless.
Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would bring me back to you
That someday it would bring me back to you
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on sunday morning
And I never want to leave
Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather still together when it ends
Sunday Morning - Maroon Five
So Sunday came and went, now its Monday morning and my mind is swamped with Monday deadlines, outlook, calls, rampant thoughts running on my mental treadmill, unexplainable smileys, sheep emoticons, photographic snapshots, little questions, a world of wonderings and a lingering picture.
And suddenly the radio blasts Usher & Alicia Key's "If I Aint Got You" as if the station read my mind and decided to multiply my weekend by a tenfold.
I'm happy, even with the thought that Tuesday brings a different outlook.
Hopes for another day indeed
What's with radio stations and Oldies anyways?
