Ooof

I can't believe how quickly the week flew past, its already Sunday...Nooooo!!! Had a really busy day yesterday, went to PLMC for the appreciation tea, saw Desmond's sister - Lorrine's baby, he's grown so much taller! After tea, headed down to town to meet some old friends whereby we had Billy Bomber's. Oh man, the portions are so huge...Just when I was getting slightly chirpier, the Bossman called me on my mobile sounding very worried about our upcoming campaign while bitching about the lousy service Zara staff offers.
So I had to scoot off to different shops to look for clothes for the talents, and I think I have to do that later today, sigh. Popped by Forever 21 and the place was a right mess, but the clothes are so hella cheap. It reminds me of those trashy, outrageous budget clothing stores in the States, like the teenage-prom-budget section of Bloomingdale's or something. I'll have to go back there sometime when its not that messy.
Then met up with Ash and popped by Vallie's holloween party for a bit where be played Guesstures and had Shepard's pie and val's wicked malibu lychee.
Woke up with a horrible clogged up nose, sore throat and blocked ears. Ugh. -dies- I want to sleep but its so difficult to do it with a leaky nose. BAH.
There is really nothing much that's deep or interesting to blog about nowadays, its just work, home, sleep, work, hit the clubs, home sleep, work, home, sleep.
I feel like eating pancakes with loads of maple syrup, scrambled eggs and bacon rashers with a huge strawberry milkshake. Tsk, fatties...

Mad Rush

I haven't touched this blog in some time, well at least it feels like it. A piece of good news, YAY we clinched the account, and I'm fucking excited, look out for our ads next month as well as weird people roaming the streets, haha...hopefully we can sort out a retainer with this client, we'll most likely get it, so its all good. On the other hand, this only means more work. Been rushing around the whole week, staying late in the office and all. Its true what they say about Advertising. Don't go into it unless you love it, if not you will never see or feel the satisfaction. Hooray. Meeting the client on Monday again. I have never pulled a whole pitch, creatives, mock-ups plus media planning & budgeting etc together within 4 days before so imagine how mad it was, barg.

Oooh and by the way Ash just joined on-board as a copywriter -looks at ash from across the office and waves- Happenings. Gonna head down to the Martell event at Zouk later, boss made it mandatory for all of us to go or something...hooohoo...another clever way of keeping us in the office till clubbing time, hur hur hur. I kid.

I guess work is good, it makes you feel useful and it keeps your mind off things. But sometimes when you are on the way home on bus 54 after leaving the office at 11 plus at night, with your dinner in a packet on your lap, you can't help but feel a tad lonely... o well we can't have everything, can we?

I Miss You Guys

So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year
But ... I'll be there for you

When the rain starts to pour

I'll be there for you

Like I've been there before

I'll be there for you

'cause you're there for me too.

So Far So Good

Indeed. I like my new company so far...everyone's nice and I've learnt a lot the past few days, hopefully nothing shits up or anything. The past few days have been uber busy, haven't even had time to log online during work hours, plus I left the office at 1am yesterday because of the pitch we got to rush and because of all these Mahjong addicts!! -Must stop playing Mahjong- Let's just hope we clinch the pitch, its a great brand to work on plus its going to be huge. I'm really quite excited. Ugh pressure...I think I should go to work today either that or work from home, time's a-runnin out. The past few days have been good. Good but weird. Hahaha. Weird. Sheesh.

She Was More Like A Beauty Queen From A Movie Scene
I Said Don't Mind, But What Do You Mean I Am The One
Who Will Dance On The Floor In The Round
She Said I Am The One Who Will Dance On The Floor In The Round

She Told Me Her Name Was Billie Jean, As She Caused A Scene
Then Every Head Turned With Eyes That Dreamed Of Being The One
Who Will Dance On The Floor In The Round

People Always Told Me Be Careful Of What You Do
And Don't Go Around Breaking Young Girls' Hearts
And Mother Always Told Me Be Careful Of Who You Love
And Be Careful Of What You Do 'Cause The Lie Becomes The Truth

Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One
But The Kid Is Not My Son
She Says I Am The One, But The Kid Is Not My Son

She laid prostrated before them,
as worlds and worlds swirled around
in her tiny plastic snow globe,
like grey sparkles that shedded their sheen.

She bit her tongue so she could speak,
slowly at first then,
stringingherwords -
meek attempts at coherence.

Her covers never had more company.

Hanif Kureishi asserts in his collection of short stories that we are a generation, freed from wars. We did not have to go through the Nazis, the Japs. We went through the evolution of popular culture. Yet we've been the most self-destructive generation, tearing ourselves apart with sex, razors, kinks, drugs, madness and every sort of "emancipation" thinkable.

Excesses.

I remember a post I wrote about multi-coloured etchings in my swirly notebook. In fact, if I recollect correctly, I etched out with my felt-tipped marker ramblings about realism and bohemia. I belive essentially in goodness, but sadly, I am embarassed to ask "Where has my good life gone to?" or rather "What good has there been in my life of late"
Before this sounds like the introduction to one of those seemingly long sermons on "The Purpose Driven Life" or something to that extent, not that I have any fault to find with the book itself, no, I am not about to unleash some preachy torrent on this blog.
Sadly to say, I wish I could unleash it on myself.
Being freefall has its pros and cons. It renders liberty to do whatever you deem fit at whatever hour you like, it also renders a different sort of liberty to your mind. Suddenly you unknowingly start to deconstruct everything that has happened in the past year and that is when it unleashes a backlash of pent up ponderings that seem to have been bubbling beneath the surface of life's cauldron.
I do not like losing control. Logically speaking, I would not like "freefall". But it has rendered me some weak sense of lucidity.

Today has been a tiring day even though I spent most of it in bed.

Wompty Woomp

Haven't been doing much lately except for getting sick. I hate the sniffles. Hate it hate it hate it! Been getting bad headaches as well and I've been a right grumpafump these days because of that.

Yesterday's dinner was nice, Happy Birthday Roxie Moxie! Apart from the rather watered-down Goulash, the seafood lassagne was nice, so was the fondue. Yum. Then yummy Malibu at Alley Bar and after that it was to bed.

Got my UOB account and will have to wait 3 weeks for the debit card to arrive, bleah. Oh and please try to contribute to the "Buy Eunice a pair of Killer Heels from Zara" fund. -drools- I shall execute a plan to purchase those.

Well the past few weeks have been terribly Bridget Jones, not the sequel of course. Its true when Joni Mitchell says
"I've looked at *insert whatever applicable from both sides now,
from give and take and still somehow,
its *Insert whatever applicable illusions I recall,
I really don't know *Insert whatever applicable at all"

I've been around, gone one full circle and now I'm back, not exactly at square one but I haven't really picked up anything along the way either. But I agree when people say I've changed and I am no more the Eunice I was. Its true. I feel it in my bones. But I can't regress and try to get the old me back, I'd rather try to cope with the person I am now. I don't exactly dislike the person I am now, its more a matter of trying to live a good life as the person I am now and not go "Oh the old Eunice would have done this or done that".
I want to be happier. (And not put on weight in the process)
I want to try to love myself more than I want the world to love me.
I want to sing aloud, write brilliantly, dance crazily, read quietly & learn ultimately.
I want to try to make myself happy again.

*By the way, I have come up with the term: "Book Rationing" Its when you buy a book and try very hard not to read it so fast that you finish it within 2 days and you feel a lil dumb for buying it in the first place. Yup. It hasn't worked at all. Poooo.
