Burnt

Its 9.15pm on a Sunday night and I'm here alone in the office, messing around with work in preperation for tomorrow's client WIP. Funnily, this seems to be the only place and time that I can sit in quiet and do my work while letting abandoned thoughts for the whole week roll by in my head. Sneaked back into the office to retrieve my handphone, (seeing as how I turn into putty when I'm rendered handphone-less) but ended up deciding to sit and clear some documents.

The weekend was rather wicked I must say, worked and played equally hard. When I think of activities that are lined up to be carried out, I get reminded of how I will continue to have no life for myself for Christmas and possibly New Year's. Yup. I can almost imagine myself counting down to 2005 in the office with a can of beer.
Shucks.

Amidst the blur of work, the blunders, the lazy-selfish-pouty thoughts of wanting to have more time for myself and just be away from work and chill in bed, the partying, drinking and chimney-like smoking, I somehow get hit by the inevitable yet familiar old pang that I get when I'm riding alone on bus no. 54 with the air-con too cold.
If there is any other time, it has got to be now because I think I'm as ready as I'll ever be

The nice thing is that I've stopped needing to pop triple fudge brownies with ferocity. The not-so-nice thing is that its because I don't have the time and don't see the neccessity to. (Ahh...pragmatism) Oh and that I've switched to corned beef and wholemeal sandwiches.
Yummy.

Pub(l)ic Holidays

I loved, loved, loved the holidays...well I wouldn't call it "the holidays" but yeah, okay, "short break" then. They air shit on TV for the public holidays like Karate Kid and what not. Trust me, watching Mr Miagi teach the "wax on-wax off" thingy isn't my idea of home entertainment, but that aside, the week was fun. Didn't have to work on Friday because bossman decided to give us all an extended break. Spent half of it sleeping and the other half partying and slacking away. Mental note: Do not attempt to go to Zouk on the eve of a Public holiday. It was uber packed, but managed to bump into Geneva and Wen...I think I got to buy new shoes, my old pair's super worn out from walking, dancing and getting stepped on. Pooo.

Yes I am ranting again.

The week was a nice one, ironically, because of the company I had, though these days I must say I prefer solitude with all the madness of work and little dramas of life that I get fed with. Plus company means precehneh. Loads of fun but precehneh.
The only shitty thing is that my red friends just visited me, now that explains all the grumpiness and crampiness. Got hit by a tummyache storm a few days ago and my stomach's all wonky. I wish I could snooze in bed for a week, shiok.

I want to watch "The Incredibles"! Watched "Shark Tale" and it was hilarious. I love the whole Godfather cum black trash thingamajigg. Tuesday will be another crazy busy day...arg, I wish Monday wouldn't end.

Next week's resolution would consist of less pigging out, more work on the triceps(yeah hur hur), try to live on my limited finances and have an ice-cream cone at my Happy Place cafe.

at work...and at play

There wasn't much room for play but we squeezed it in between work anyways. Note the doors and desk labelled "relief area" aka shitting-meditation place, "gas chamber" aka where the creative dept hide and smoke on the pretext of conceptualising, hur hur and "boss @ work"...Boss man's idea of a conducive working environment.

I have to apologise for not being able to avail myself for gatherings, visits etc. There are a lot of people I want to see and haven't seen in a long time...phone line got cut so now I'm practically an office hermit. Hopefully December would bring more financial freedom, cranberry sauce & Turkey, presents, booze, Christmas trees, iPod & Visa minis and happiness yo.

Battery Life

I am running on the treadmill again. Well if you know me well enough you'd know what I mean. Currently its 8.30pm and I am still in the office, just finished my powerpoint presentation for tomorrow's client meeting, waiting for creatives to insert the ads and mock ups and such. I like our Christmas ads, they have a happy-fuzzy-only christmas can render feeling.
On another note, I'm quite upset and miffed because I have something very important to do tomorrow morning that I probably cannot postpone and I might have to miss it because I am worried for tomorrow's client meeting. But I really really have to go...it'll mean a lot to me and to the other party. Fuck. There isn't much compassion left in the world nowadays.

Oh yeah, Bush won the elections. Hooray. Here's to more destruction coming our way.

Inflamed takes on a whole new meaning when I open my mouth in the mornings and peer at my tonsils. Yeah, it also gives a whole new meaning to "coughing blood". Raarness.
I will officially cease to have a life coming this weekend because that is when everything starts, and it'll be a madder rush. We seriously need to hire more people to do admin stuff like do invoices and answer telephone calls, buy ciggies and diet coke and whatnot. I wanted to day that I can't wait for Christmas, then I thought about it and realised that it would prolly be just another day...

How time whizzes by. I remember NYE 2003 like it was just last month or something. All that booze, weird party peripherals, glitter and whooping. Sigh.

Work is good. Its good to go to work, leave at 9pm, go home, curl up and read a book and then sleep. I think I prefer solitude nowadays.

Poverty is a curse.
