Whirlwind Madness

And so it is. Cigarette prices have risen to an all time ludicrous 11 bucks per Marlboro pack.
I am switching to Winstons or something cheaper. No Pall Mall please.

After a session of Zouk, leaving poor unfortunate Gary to fend for himself in Phuture with his "best friend" -snigger-, and a quick supper, I collapsed in bed and (alas!) forgot to set the alarm.

It wouldn't have been so bad, cept that there was a very-important-cannot-be-late pitch at 11.30am this morn.
So as it goes, I woke up at 9.48am. Upon waking up and sensing that the sun's rays were somewhat brighter than usual, I rolled over and checked the time.
9:48am.
Grunted and rolled over. It took me a good 20secs to realise that I was quite fucked.
Rang up the boss (who was incidentally reuperating from Zouk as well).
"Hello, are you awake?"
"Oh fuck. Oh fuck. Its almost 10am"
"Oh fuck, you're sleeping too? Fuck"
"I just woke up too, fuck!"
"Ok get your ass down to the office now, NOW."

I was actually quite pleased that I reached the office by 10:30am.

Boss: "Ok we are NOT doing this again. NO. This is NOT going to happen again. No more clubbing before a pitch-day, NO."

So we miraculously managed to get everything in order before reaching the client's office a good 20 mins earlier. Did the song and dance b.s and now I'm SUPER SLEEPY. Not to mention my feet's acheing. Raar. I want to sleep. Why isn't it Friday, why?
WHY?

Zip, Zippety, Zap

So the weekend zipped by like any other, and its another work week. Well the good news is that pay day is coming, in another 6 days or so and I can officially start "Operation Save for a holiday in April". I'm quite proud of myself. I managed to have money leftover this month. Normally when its this late in the month, I would be surviving on instant mee and coins, not to mention suffering from cigarettte deprivation.

Spent most of Saturday frolicking in the pool, so that explains the sore arms today. Passed on Kid Locco at Rouge and some Warsaw event at Inkbar, damn! But the promise of Punggol Nasi Lemak and basically doing nothing was more alluring. Ended up so sleepy that even Robin Williams' stand up comedies couldn't revive me.

Sunday was spent at Church and sampling Aunty's really good Mutton curry - I tried my best at deciphering the ingredients secretly but that only resulted in me eating more. Then it was Chris Rock Dvds and back to bed.

Well as usual, Monday hit me with the same piling workload and do-do people to deal with. I had a really weird dream yesterday night. Dreamt that all my teeth were falling off due to cigarettes and that Ash came back to hang in the office with kooky lookin pink hair. Yeeee.

Specky

My optician ordered me to wear my new glasses for 2 weeks lest I injure the underside of my left upper eyelid more with the contacts.
I look like an ass.

Home Alone

I want to do wicked things with anchovies, sour cream, olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes and toast.
pooo.

Festivities, Festivities...

Here's pics from CNY and Ash's farewell party...Nothing much really, just a sore throat and earache from too much bak kua and the like. Been sleeping my CNY away whenever I can, its a bad combination, eating and sleeping, tsk.
Caught the movie Constantine, its the most blasphemous movie I've seen, heh. But that aside, its quite a kickass movie, its Keanu in his regular black trench coat-fitted white shirt do, need I say more?

Sorry mel, the tamilian-beer pic is a must.
Okay fine, I know you can't really see the pics cuz they're too small, but o well, I'm too lazy to adjust it, so yeah...

Its like living for another Tomorrow

Sunrise sunrise
Looks like morning in your eyes
But the clocks had nine fifteen for hours

Sunrise sunrise
Couldn’t tempt us if it tried
Cause the afternoon’s already come and gone
And I said
hooohooo hooohooo hooohooo
To you

Surprise surprise
Couldn’t find it in your eyes
But I’m sure it’s written all over my face

Surprise surprise
Never something I could hide
When I see we've made it through another day
Then I say
hooohoo hooohooo hooohooo
To you

Now the night
throw its cover down
mmm on me again
Ooo and if I’m right
It’s the only way to bring me back
Hooohooo hooohooo hooohooo
To you
Hooohooo hooohooo hooohooo
To you

Sunrise - Norah Jones

I feel like things are beautiful again.
If it means working hard at it, if it means struggling to get back in touch with my spirituality, if it means secret shirt-shopping, if it means returning to the kitchen, if it means dealing with other people's maliciousness, I am ready.

Its been extremely real. Its been extremely human. It shouldn't become mundane nor taken for granted. It shouldn't be short lived.
It should just be. (And no that's not some tagline rip off)
:-)

Hypocrisy

I have been angered.
Initially I had a long rant spewing in my head to be blogged down here but after the regular toils of work and spending most of the day struggling within myself to be the bigger person out of this, I shall hold my tongue.

I feel like Mary Magdalene. Persecuted by Pharisees. Waiting to be stoned. Only that the pharisees left after the "Those who have not sinned, throw the first stone" but I'm left with indignation and bruised feelings.

I've heard it all, actually we've heard it all. The stereotypical insinuations that Mass commers are an arrogant, glamour-whoring, pretentious bunch. I can comprehend where that comes from, I do. However much we try to live our lives consciously, however much we try to avoid inevitable things we do that seemingly point towards us looking like glamour babies, full of schmooze, slick and sly...I've given up explaining to the unseeing. For one, I do not like the term "Mass commers" Its like everyone in the media, design and fashion industry seem to fall under being like a "Mass commer". I do not see a need to even remotely defend any allegations or insinuations that just because I do certain things or study in a certain institution that I behave in a certain way that is frowned upon by angsty, mundane individuals.

I was not greeted by the usual warmth last night. In fact I opened my door to a lieu of accusations. That aside, I do not like feeling like I am answerable to every act I did in the past. Nor do I appreciate it when I am starting over a new phase in my life where my priorities have shifted, to be labelled as something people see on face value.

I understand its human to judge.
I do not understand your haste to believe.
I do not understand how hatred can be based on something fictitious.
I do not understand tempers nowadays.

And I am trying very hard to bite back my anger not let it spew over this blog.

Give me one reason to stay here - and I’ll turn right back around
Give me one reason to stay here - and I’ll turn right back around
Because I don’t want leave you lonely
But you got to make me change my mind

Baby I got your number and I know that you got mine
But you know that I called you, I called too many times
You can call me baby, you can call me anytime
But you got to call me

I don’t want no one to squeeze me - they might take away my life
I don’t want no one to squeeze me - they might take away my life
I just want someone to hold me and rock me through the night

This youthful heart can love you and give you what you need
This youthful heart can love you and give you what you need
But I’m too old to go chasing you around
Wasting my precious energy

Give me one reason to stay here - and I’ll turn right back around
Give me one reason to stay here - and I’ll turn right back around
Because I don’t want leave you lonely
But you got to make me change my mind

Baby just give me one reason - give me just one reason why
Baby just give me one reason - give me just one reason why I should stay
Because I told you that I loved you
And there ain’t no more to say

Give me one Reason - Tracy Chapman
